If My Eyes Could Speak

If my eyes could speak and tell you the story of my life, you would be speechless by how far I’ve come. From being adopted, to losing my hearing at age six, to losing my first son (who would have turned 21 this October), to losing others I loved. From being mocked because of my deafness, to having my NBA dream taken away. From the lies told about me, to nearly losing my own life before making it to the ER just in time. From being homeless for almost two years, to becoming a single father raising three boys with very little help, while making countless trips to neurologists and hospitals for one of my sons.

None of it broke me.

Every setback became another reason to keep going. Every obstacle became another lesson. Every storm helped shape the man, father, and entrepreneur I am today.

While life was testing me, I was quietly building my brand since 2006. At the same time, I made sure my boys stayed on top of their grades, got to every practice and every game, and I worked full-time—often putting in overtime—to provide for my family.

People see where I am now, but they don’t see what it took to get here.

My story isn’t about pain—it’s about perseverance.
